A talented and accomplished multi-disciplinary artist, Laura Austin Wiley (flute) grew up just outside of Bloomington, Indiana, in a farmhouse built in 1850 on 22 acres of land. The landscape was a rich source of inspiration for drawing, writing and musical expression. She comes from a very artistic family who made their own entertainment most of the time. For college, Wiley went to New York City, earning a B.A. in English from Columbia University. Right after graduation, she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, where she got her Master’s degrees in English and Music. These days, Laura performs as a flutist and singer with a variety of ensembles, including Resonance Jazz Ensemble. She has CDs of jazz standards and original compositions for sale on CD Baby, and her three novels are available on Amazon.
We can’t tell you enough about her because there is so much to tell.
Maybe start by reading her books.
