We first played as part of 1890 Bryant St. Open Studios last autumn, as part of the Friday night preview party. That was quite well received, so we are going to do so again as part of the spring Open Studios.
The date is Saturday, 6 April, 2019 at 5pm. The location is Flaming Hakama studio, 1890 Bryant St., #313, SF 94110.
This will feature the full alt.musica lineup, with voice, woodwinds, strings a rhythm section including Jenny Hunt-flute; Glenda Bates-english horn;Elaine Alt-bass clarinet; Alicia Bell-voice; Gregory German-drums; Anthony Blea-violin; Michèle Walther-violin; Charith Premawardhana-viola; Gabriel Beistline-‘cello; and Carl Herder-bass.
The event is free, and in addition to hearing alt.musica, there are dozens of other amazing artists showing their work in their studios as part of Spring Open Studios at 1890 Bryant St.

We’ll present songs composed by Elaine Alt as well as Oscar Moore, Johannes Brahms, Malcolm X, Aeion Solar, Miles Davis, Charles Mingus and Dave Brubeck.
The music style incorporates contrasts and mashups of Swing, Latin Jazz, Funk, Afro-Cuban and Classical elements.
