alt.musica will return to Flaming Hakama, to participate in the Open Studios at 1890 Bryant St.
The date is Saturday, 26 October, 2019. We’ll conduct an open rehearsal at 1:30 pm, then play sets at 2:30 pm and 4:00 pm. The location is Flaming Hakama studio, 1890 Bryant St., #313, SF 94110.

The event is free, and in addition to hearing alt.musica, there are dozens of other amazing artists showing their work in their studios as part of Autumn Open Studios at 1890 Bryant St.
We’ll present songs composed by Elaine Alt as well as Johannes Brahms, Paula McMath, and Malcolm X, that incorporates mashups of Swing, Latin Jazz, Funk, Afro-Cuban, Singer-Songwriter and Classical elements.
This includes the premiere of several new orchestrations, including two songs from the album Open the Gates! by Alt Tal, the song Rising from the Jazz Combustion Uprising album Self-Immolation, the buried classic Listening Paula McMath’s Taken All My Life, and more.
Half of the material features vocalist Alicia Bell, and the other half of instrumental material, which features improvisation by all the members of the ensemble.
